Frequently asked questions at Bartlett Swim School
What makes Bartlett Swim school better than other swim schools?
Australian swimming representative and current National surf life saving head coach Scott Bartlett has developed a program that allows continuity through skill development from an early age through to pre squad training. This skill development comes from Scott being university trained in Physical education through to over 22 years in the aquatic training environment.
Why is the new heat system so good?
The advanced heat system installed here at Bartlett Swim School was the most expensive part of the set up cost. This system allows total comfort for the spectator to enjoy their child’s swim lesson. Our air temperature can be set between 24-27 Degrees (Dry air too, no humidity or dripping from the roof), plus our pools can be heated from 29-35 degrees. The air heat system controls both air and water temperature, a huge step forward for the learn to swim industry!
We are going on holiday; can my child have a makeup lesson?
We do not and cannot provide make up lessons for swimmers who choose to do other activities at their lesson time. We will however consider a credit or make up lesson to the following term if 2 or more lessons are missed through medical reasons. A medical certificate is required. Credits must be taken by the affected child are not transferable.
Why doesn’t my child improve like others in their class?
It’s simple. We are all different in all areas. You should never compare your child to other children as everyone has different learning and physical capabilities.
What size are your classes?
➢ Babies and toddlers: Maximum of 6 babies
➢ Pre School Classes: Maximum of 4
➢ Levels 1-4: Max of 4 per class.
➢ Level 5 : Max of 4 per class
➢ Level 6: ( Pre Development)- Maximum of 6 children
These are the maximum number of children per class, however at Bartlett Swim School we aim to deliver a high level of quality teaching skills so we try to keep classes 1 less than the maximum.
What are the sizes and temperature of the pools?
The main pool is 11m long * 6m wide * 1.2m deep. Pool temperature is between 30-32 Degrees.
The small pool is 6m long * 4m wide * 800mm deep. Pool temperature is between 31-33 Degrees.
The air temperature is set between 24-27 degrees
Do I need to stay for my child’s lesson?
Yes. This isn’t a public pool so you need to be present to supervise your child/children before and after lessons.
Will my child's instructor change during the term?
We understand that consistency is an important factor for development and relationships between instructor and child are vital. However we cannot foresee illness or staff moving on. We do our best to retain the same teacher for the entire term’s classes.
Bartlett Swim School motto:
Learning to swim is an asset for life, it is a skill that can save your child’s life!
